October 23rd 2018 Fishing report for Cedar Creek Lake Last week we received almost a week of cold 50 degree rain and the lake went from 2ft low to over full pool with the flood gates opening. Our water temp went from 84 to 66 degrees during that time also. That’s a major cool down for a week. Luckily the fishing has remained solid overall. The crappie & white bass got a little tougher but I’ve still managed to limit on the last three crappie trips since it’s stopped raining. I saw the first group of Loons on the lake today. They are here early this year due to the cooler than normal weather.
The crappie are still holding on brush, docks, & bridges in the 6-20ft range depending on conditions and the location of where your fishing. The north end of the lake is 3-4 degrees cooler than the south end. Creek arms are also cooler with water temps in the mid 60’s. The white bass are holding in 10-20ft of water off main lake points and humps. They can be caught on spoons & other shiny baits presented at there depth.
